Iapetus is a 1500 kilometer Saturnian moon with a ring of steep mountains at the equator. Some of the mountains are 20 kilometers high, twice as high as Mount Everest's hight above the ocean. Pictures of the moon in profile look like a walnut, with its bulging mountain ridge. Iapetus always faces the same side toward Saturn. Giovanni Cassini deduced that one half of the moon was dark and the other bright. When it was East of Saturn, the charcoal side was facing earth so it was very hard to see. Here are two pictures of Iapetus taken by NASA's Cassini spacecraft. In the upper photo, the black side is merely in shadow. The slate colored area only reflects 5% of the sunlight. The lighter part at the top is white like snow. The slate and snow surfaces bleed into each other - sometimes with long streaks or patches of white in the dark areas. The lower image is a profile view of the ring of mountains around the equator.

Biblical physics gives different answers to the puzzles of nature because it is based on a diametrically opposite principle than science. (A principle is a very broad, fundamental doctrine or assumption.) Science was historically constructed on a single principle from a pagan Greek. Aristotle insisted that we must assume that the properties of matter are fixed, not emerging. The scientific system of measuring, mathematicating and theorizing was historically built on that one assumption. The Bible predicts that in the last days false teachers would come saying "panta outos diamenei - all things remain the same in being."
